Capsuleer Day XVII - Capsuleer Day Clash (2020)

5 May 2020 to 19 May 2020. The seventeenth-anniversary edition, codenamed Capsuleer Day Clash, ran in a two-week window with the now-standard daily-login ladder plus battlecruiser-restricted themed combat sites. The site theme was the Triglavian Collective (the same arc thread that had been the spine of EVE content since the 2019 Invasion expansion): Triglavian forces threatening research facilities across lowsec, nullsec, and wormhole space, capsuleers contracted to push them back.

Site eligibility was capped at battlecruiser size or smaller for the basic tier, with advanced sites scattered through harder space. The loot-table headliners were Triglavian Trinary Datastreams - already-valuable salvage from invasion content, included in the event drops as a soft on-ramp to the broader Triglavian economy. Permanent Capsuleer Day XVII SKINs for hulls including the Maller, Ferox, and others rolled out alongside booster lines (Capsuleer Day Glamourex boosters and Cerebral Accelerators in basic / extended / potent tiers), Agency boosters, and Capsuleer Day 'Needlejack' filaments for quick-jump deployment.

XVII's real-world context was unusual: it was the first fully-pandemic-era Capsuleer Day. Fanfest 2020 had been cancelled in February - the last in-person fanfest before the pandemic - and CCP was running a pivot to remote / digital community events. The XVII format itself didn't change to compensate (the structure was mostly inherited from XVI), but the launch news posts and developer communication explicitly framed the event as a community-rallying point during a year when in-person gathering was off the table. The 17th Birthday Celebration wiki page lists XVII as the daily-login portion, with Capsuleer Day Clash as the parallel themed-sites portion.
