PLEX for GOOD - Nepal Earthquake (2015)

On 25 April 2015, the magnitude-7.8 Gorkha earthquake struck central Nepal, killing roughly 9,000 people, injuring over 22,000, and damaging or destroying nearly 750,000 homes. Centuries-old structures in Kathmandu's UNESCO-listed Durbar Square collapsed; villages across the surrounding districts were levelled.

CCP launched PLEX for GOOD: Nepal Earthquake Relief on 1 May 2015, initially scheduled to run through 15 May 2015. Donations were routed to the Icelandic Red Cross at the standard $15-per-PLEX conversion rate.

On 12 May 2015 - mid-drive - a second earthquake registering magnitude 7.3 struck eastern Nepal, killing several hundred more. CCP responded by extending the drive by one week, to 24 May 2015, in response to the escalating need.

The drive raised $103,650 - the second-largest PLEX for Good total to date, behind only the 2013 Typhoon Haiyan drive's $190,890. It was also the first PLEX for Good drive to break six figures without the Haiyan-style cosmetic-reward incentive - donations were straightforwardly PLEX-for-cash, no T-shirt.

For EVE-history context: this drive ran during the Mosaic (28 April 2015) and Carnyx (2 June 2015) expansion cycle - the lead-up to the Aegis sov rework in July 2015 that would reshape nullsec. The drive itself overlapped almost exactly with the Mosaic patch.
