Carnyx - Summer of Sovereignty Begins

Carnyx was the June 2015 release that opened CCP's self-branded Summer of Sovereignty - the months-long content drumbeat that culminated in the Aegis sov rework a month later. The patch shipped the Jackdaw (Caldari Tactical Destroyer, third of four), a new Angel Cartel L4 Burner mission, and removed the standing-loss penalty for killing Burner NPCs.

For most players Carnyx is best remembered as the warm-up for the Entosis-Link sov rework that landed in July. Burner-mission income spiked because of the standing-penalty removal, and small-gang lowsec activity ticked up around Jackdaw release.

Carnyx itself is light, but it sits inside an arc - Tiamat -> Mosaic -> Carnyx -> Aegis - that remade T3 destroyers and sov in a single half-year. If you bounced off in early 2015, expect three of those four to have happened while you were gone.
