Fanfest 2015 - Worlds Collide

EVE Fanfest 2015 (19-21 March, Harpa, Reykjavik) carried the "Emergent Threats" theme on the back of the Caroline's Star lore arc and used CCP Seagull's keynote to lay out the multi-year roadmap that would land as the Citadel expansion the following spring.

Fanfest 2015 - Worlds Collide

The 12th annual EVE Fanfest ran 19-21 March 2015 at the Harpa concert hall in Reykjavik. The marketing tagline was Worlds Collide and the in-fiction trailer that opened the keynote - Emergent Threats - leaned hard into the lore turbulence that had built up across the prior six months: the unexplained Drifter sightings, the new Jove Observatories, and the silent sky-event that capsuleers had been calling Caroline's Star since November.

The single largest forward-looking moment came from CCP Seagull's executive-producer keynote on Day 1. She walked attendees through a multi-year sandbox roadmap whose centrepiece was a new family of player-built deep-space structures intended to displace the aging POS mechanic - the structures that would ship a year later as Citadels. Day 3 (21 March) drilled into the structure and capital-ship details that the Vegas event later that year would expand on.

Fanfest 2015 also served as the public-facing closure on the Drifter Crisis act of EVE's storyline. The Imperial Throne arc was already in motion, and the Day-2 lore presentations explicitly framed the assassination of an Amarr empress as the next likely beat - a foreshadowing that paid off five months later when Empress Jamyl Sarum I was killed in YC117.
