Capsuleer Day XIX - nineteenth anniversary (2022)

3 May 2022 to 24 May 2022, a three-week window. The nineteenth edition introduced the longest event window to date - three weeks rather than two - and the first true faction-choice storyline built into a Capsuleer Day anniversary. Starting on 6 May, capsuleers participating in the Agency campaign had to pick a side: support CONCORD's DED (Directive Enforcement Department) in their crackdown on a galactic drug-smuggling ring, or support the Underworld Smugglers in their fight against CONCORD's SARO units.

Each side had its own combat-site rotation and reward palette. Smuggler Dead Drop hacking sites required scanner probes and Data Analyzer modules - capsuleers who scanned them down could confiscate the contents for ISK. The combat sites scaled to battlecruiser hulls and below, with Tech I combat battlecruisers, heavy assault cruisers, strategic cruisers, or command ships all viable.

The 2022 reward ladder included:

  • Up to 100,000 Skill Points for Alpha clones
  • Up to 450,000 Skill Points for Omega clones
  • Eight new XIX-branded SKINs across multiple hull lines
  • Standard booster and apparel rotations

XIX also introduced a Proving Grounds sub-event timed to Fanfest 2022 (6-9 May), the first in-person Fanfest after the pandemic cancellation chain. The Proving Grounds rotation that weekend was a 2v2 navy-frigate format, played out for prizes during the Fanfest window itself.

The faction-choice storyline format pioneered in XIX would be reused and expanded a year later in XX (SoCT vs Guri Malakim pirates) - XIX is the technical predecessor that proved the structure worked.
