The XVI Anniversary Celebration ran 2 May - 20 May 2019 as the second edition of the formally-branded format - 18-day login campaign, XVI SKIN sets, Servant Sisters of EVE hulls, Permaband apparel, and the first daily-login-reward structure that would become the standard.
Capsuleer Day XVI - sixteenth anniversary (2019)
2 May 2019 to 20 May 2019, an 18-day window. The XVI Anniversary Celebration was the second formally-branded Capsuleer Day edition, and the year that locked in the daily-login-reward structure as the event's core spine. The 2018 XV format had introduced themed combat sites and Omega/Alpha tiering; 2019 added the day-by-day claim ladder that has been a fixture of every anniversary since.
Logging in for any of the 18 available days unlocked a slot in the reward track, with full claim available to anyone who hit 16 of the 18. The 2019 ladder included celebratory trinkets, faction ammunition, exclusive XVI-branded SKINs, apparel, a monocle, Servant Sisters of EVE hulls, Permaband-branded SKINs and clothing, fireworks, and abyssal filaments - the last of which fed directly into the Into The Abyss Triglavian content that had launched the previous year. Both Alpha and Omega players could complete the full track; Omega rewards skewed toward higher-value items (the SoE hulls and the more powerful filaments).
The Permaband cosmetics were a notable subplot. Permaband - CCP's in-house meme rock band, fronted by characters voiced by CCP staff - had built up a stable of community-favourite tracks and the 2019 anniversary used the band as a vehicle for cosmetic branding. The Permaband SKIN line and apparel from XVI remain collectibles; the band itself was wound down a few years later.
XVI also coincided with the launch of the Invasion expansion on 28 May 2019, which kicked off the Triglavian invasion arc proper. The XVI event window closed eight days before Invasion went live, but the abyssal filaments handed out as login rewards were a clear narrative on-ramp: players who claimed them in the XVI ladder were already running abyssal content when the invasion sirens started up.
