Tiamat - Svipul and the Drifters

Tiamat was the second 2015 release. It shipped the Svipul - the Minmatar Tactical Destroyer - completing the second of four T3 destroyer hulls and giving the line projectile-weapon coverage. Projectile weapons received a balance pass alongside.

The lore impact was larger than the patch's modest content list. The Jove Observatories that had appeared cloaked across known space in Rhea uncloaked in Tiamat. The Drifters - a new hostile NPC faction with battleship-class hulls and doomsday-style superweapons - began appearing throughout New Eden, attacking capsuleers near observatories and leaking into highsec. This was the first thread of what became the Triglavian / Pochven arc five years later.

Tiamat is the moment Drifters became part of the cluster's threat model. If you remember when wormhole space was the only home of post-collapse Sleeper-derived NPCs, that monopoly ended here.
