How is cultural impact scored?
Each catalogued battle gets a cultural impact score from 1 (rote mass kill, no surviving narrative) to 5 (canonical — covered by mainstream gaming press, or doctrine-defining, or directly triggered a war turning point).
A row reaches 5 if it meets any of three paths:
- External editorial recognition — covered by ≥2 distinct mainstream gaming/tech outlets (PC Gamer, Kotaku, Eurogamer, Polygon, etc.) or equivalent authority (Guinness World Records).
- Doctrine-defining — introduced a fleet doctrine that reshaped EVE warfare for years (e.g. the Wrecking Ball at HED-GP).
- Watershed-political-trigger — directly triggered a coalition collapse or war turning point.
Cultural scoring is editorial — it reflects our reading of which battles shaped EVE's history and community memory, not just which had the biggest numbers. Some rows lack a Wikipedia article or mainstream-press footprint despite being culturally significant inside EVE; we deliberately don't gate the cultural score on Wikipedia coverage, which is itself just downstream of gaming-press attention.

Bars · 2003-2026
Each bar is one year. Bar height = number of catalogued battles / campaigns / events in that year. Stacked by scope (sov / lowsec / highsec / wormhole / mixed). Click a coloured segment — if a deep-dive card exists for any battle in that year+scope cell, you'll jump straight to it (or pick from a short list when the cell carries more than one).
