Capsuleer Day XVIII - eighteenth anniversary (2021)

6 May 2021 to 18 May 2021. EVE's eighteenth birthday landed in the middle of one of the most disruptive years in the game's history - World War Bee 2 / WWB2 was in full swing at the time, with PAPI's siege of the Imperium grinding through the spring. CCP shipped the Capsuleer Day XVIII format on schedule anyway: a two-week window with a daily-login ladder and themed combat sites.

The XVIII site theme was Equilibrium of Mankind (EoM) - the end-times death cult that has provided opportunistic-villain content in multiple events. Two site types were on offer: the EoM Rogue Capital Shipyard and the EoM Cyno Network Spoofing Facility. Completion points fed into a milestone reward ladder unlocking ship SKINs at each threshold. The themed sites were balanced for combat-cruiser fits and above; the daily-login portion was open to all clones.

The login ladder ran for thirteen days and offered up to 450,000 Skill Points for Omega Clone State accounts (Alpha got a smaller share). Alongside the SP, the XVIII edition introduced the 18-PLEX SKIN deal - every day from 6 to 18 May, a different SKIN was discounted to 18 PLEX in the New Eden Store, often a 90%+ markdown. This daily-rotating SKIN sale became a recurring fixture in later anniversaries.

XVIII closed with a return-to-form feel: format was now stable, the daily-login ladder + themed combat + SKIN sale combination had bedded in, and the event no longer felt experimental. The next edition - 2022's XIX - would push into a more elaborate two-faction-choice setup, but XVIII is the one where the format quietly matured.
