EVE Echoes Launches on Mobile
On 13 August 2020, CCP Games and NetEase launched EVE Echoes worldwide on iOS and Android. Echoes is a separate, persistent EVE-themed sandbox MMO running on its own shard with 8,000+ solar systems - distinct from the desktop Tranquility universe. Characters, ISK, ships, corporations, and sov in Echoes do not transfer to or from Tranquility.
Echoes adapted EVE's core systems (skill training, market, sov, manufacturing, exploration) for mobile play, with adjusted UX (autopilot tweaks, simplified fitting flows). It launched in seven languages and quickly accumulated several million installs. Some Tranquility players run Echoes as a casual second EVE; others view it as a parallel community.
If you hear someone refer to "EVE on mobile," they mean Echoes - and they aren't talking about your old Tranquility character. Tranquility itself remains desktop-only, with the Excel integration (2023) being its closest "second screen" companion.
