Erotica 1 Permabanned over the Bonus Room

In March 2014, after a public campaign led in part by CSM member Ripard Teg, CCP permabanned the player Erotica 1 and several associates for running the so-called Bonus Round (a.k.a. Bonus Room). The Bonus Room baited scam victims into TeamSpeak voice channels where they were strung along for hours under promises of escalating ISK rewards while being verbally humiliated, with the recordings posted publicly.

CCP's stated grounds were real-world harassment that crossed out of the in-game sandbox into bullying and, in some cases, sleep-deprivation harm - distinct from ordinary EVE scamming, which CCP has always permitted. The case became a reference point for where the EULA actually draws the line, and it shifted both CCP enforcement posture and community discussion of "sociopath simulator" content.

EVE still allows in-game scams and ganking, but the boundary between "clever sandbox play" and "real-world harassment" got formally policed in 2014. If your old TeamSpeak/Discord PvP culture leaned toward the harassment end, that era is over.
