Fanfest 2005 - Second Year, Held With Iceland Airwaves

The 2005 edition ran 19-23 October 2005 in Reykjavik, deliberately overlapping with the Iceland Airwaves music festival so that travel packages and hotel rooms could be shared and out-of-town pilots could get two events for one trip. Icelandair sold a combined Fanfest + Airwaves package out of multiple European and US cities.

Content-wise, 2005 is the year CCP did its first public Kali proof-of-concept demonstration - the early multi-stage plan that would eventually become the Revelations expansion line, with new exploration mechanics, the contracts system, and the invention overhaul to T2. None of those features shipped in 2005; this was a roadmap presentation rather than a launch.

The format established at the inaugural Fanfest the previous year carried over essentially unchanged - keynote, dev panels, alliance panel, charity pub crawl, top-of-the-world closing party.
